Why does South Florida PBS have on-air membership drives?

Fundraising on-air makes up the majority of our local operating budget and supports the programs you're enjoying during the rest of the year. South Florida PBS' pledge drives are a vital source of new (and renewing!) members.  Without pledge drives, we simply couldn't provide all the programs and services that our viewers have come to rely on. 

We understand that special fundraising programs do not appeal to everyone, but thousands of viewers support South Florida PBS during pledge drives, so they remain an important programming service for that audience, as well as contributing valuable resources to our core schedule. 

Programs are repeated based on member feedback, helping to ensure everyone gets a chance to see these programs and the corresponding thank you gifts - and it's your opportunity to direct some of your tax-deductible dollars to something that matters to you.
